Fred Allyn Jr. is a lifelong resident of Ledyard, Connecticut. While he grew up in Ledyard, he left to earn his bachelor's degree in business administration from Military College of South Carolina. It wasn't long after that he found his way back home to Ledyard.
Fred has served more hours on municipal and civic organizations than most of us spend with our spouses! He was first elected for the position on the Board of Finance in 1968. He also served terms (2) as President of Ledyard Rotary (current member) along with serving on Economic Development, Chair of Library Commission, various building committees, 18 years on Zoning Board of Appeals, two terms on Ledyard Town Council, prior officer of Ledyard Fire Co., and former Officer of Ledyard Fair (Treasurer and VP).
Fred has been in the commercial real estate business for a long time. After his son returned home, Fred broke off from his current real estate business (Bondi & Allyn) in 2002 and started the franchise Allyn and Associates, LLC with Fred III. In 2010 they decided to step out from under the franchise and rebrand as Allyn Associates.
Fred’s current focus is on commercial real estate. While he isn’t working, he spends time with his family, friends, and the town that he loves most, Ledyard. Many of us at some point leave the town where we grew up. Fred Jr. is a different story. He is more than “local.” Ledyard was separated from Groton in 1836 by an act of the Connecticut Legislature. The section east of the Thames River had been settled in the mid-seventeenth century by Thomas Bayley, John Gager, Robert Stoddard, and Robert Allyn. Fred is a descendant of one of those very special settlers. Ledyard is not only HIS home; it is his families home. Fred knows what the town looked like when very few buildings stood proudly. When Fred was little, the town hall was a tiny spot built adjacent to the Congregational Church and was around to see the first consolidated school (Ledyard Center School) open in 1949. What benefit do you have? You have a historian. You have someone that knows northeastern Connecticut better than any other agent in the state. Fred B. Allyn III, also known as Mayor Fred, was introduced to real estate at a young age. Being a part of a family that was invested in real estate, Mayor Fred was designated for many of the odd jobs related to the field. Spending time doing ground maintenance, rental cleanups, and interior prep and paint, became valuable lessons that led to his desire to purchase his own properties.
Mayor Fred left the state of Connecticut to attend Clemson University in South Carolina where he delved into B.S. Studies in Financial Management, with a focus on real estate. Following college, he eventually made his way back home to Connecticut to join his father, Fred Allyn Jr., in commercial real estate at Bondi & Allyn. In 2002, they broke off and started the franchise Allyn and Associates, LLC. It was in January 2010 that Mayor Fred decided to step out from under the franchise and rebrand the entire team they built and reemerge as Allyn Associates. Maintaining the same staff and team, Allyn Associates thrived under its new name.
On May 1, 2017, Fred B. Allyn III was sworn in as Mayor of Ledyard, Connecticut. While Mayor Fred’s top priorities are currently ensuring proper stewardship of the town’s finances, protecting the safety and health of residents, maintaining accountability and transparency in the town government, and working to attract quality economic growth to fund town projects (while still keeping property taxes in check), he is still very much involved in Allyn Associates. Balancing his role as Mayor with his career as a broker/owner is just another challenge that he sees as an opportunity!
Mayor Fred’s days, nights and often many weekends, are spent at community functions with his wife of 18 years, Jami, and their twin teenagers, Jack and Sophie. Lisa Gookin grew up in Norwich, Connecticut, but has lived in Canterbury for the past 32 years. After spending many important years raising her three kids, Lisa made her way into the hospitality industry. Starting at the Ramada Inn in Norwich, Lisa quickly made her presence known by being rewarded “Employee of the Year," which quickly turned into a Captain role. Mystic Marriott caught wind and stole her, making her a Captain of the opening team. This position set her up to move into the Captain and Shift Manager role for the Banquet and Convention Department at Mohegan Sun, where she managed a crew that served thousands of people. Knowing what she was capable of, Mohegan Sun also made her part of the team that oversaw the food and beverage for the entertainers in the arena. Lisa also took on a good portion of the decorating for the banquet and convention department. Always having an interest in real estate, while working at Mohegan Sun, Lisa obtained her real estate license and used it to help friends and family buy/sell their homes.
It was her love for DIY projects, renovating her home with her husband, that pushed her in the direction of focusing solely on real estate. It is here that she learned with a drill in her hand, and her compressor, that she was capable of anything! These DIY projects not only trained her keen eyes to look for details in a home that other realtors might overlook, but these projects have also given her experience and understanding of what goes on behind the walls of a house, which can be extremely valuable to a buyer/seller. Real Estate is now her career focus! Yeminis Baez, who goes by Jamie, moved from Florida to New York with her parents at the age of 16. Not soon after, the family made their way to the state of Connecticut. New London County has been her home since 2002.
After finishing school, Jamie started her career life at Mohegan Sun Casino where she worked as a game dealer and supervisor for 11 years. At the young age of 31, Jamie purchased her first home in Uncasville. While she enjoyed working at the casino, Jamie always had a passion for the local real estate market. In 2016, Jamie turned her passion into a career and earned her real estate license. As an agent, Jamie works in all areas of the real estate market but enjoys the residential sector the most. Lisa Agathos is originally from Norwalk, Connecticut but has lived in the Ledyard area since 2001. Lisa was introduced to the life of real estate by the agent that walked her through the process of buying her home. Coming from a strong administrative background, Lisa knew that real estate would be a fantastic transition to a new career path. In December of 2016, Lisa obtained her real estate license.
You may know Lisa from Sweet Hill Farms in Gales Ferry, Connecticut. Lisa was asked by Fred Allyn Jr. to take on revitalizing this community hot spot. Being bitten by the “farming bug” when she was a little girl, Lisa became the designated property manager for this wonderful community location. She coordinated the entire farm operation! She was behind the sourcing of local animals to raise, the veggie growing, and the beautiful greenhouses full of flowers. Lisa was the key to sparking this favorite community spot.
When Lisa isn’t working on real estate, she is spending time with her two kids. They enjoy family game nights, movies, and when they can…they enjoy swimming. Lisa also loves cooking and enjoys trying out new recipes.

Clifford Allyn Jr. is originally from Preston, Connecticut and is a proud alumnus of Norwich Free Academy. Cliff has been with Dominion Energy-Northeast Utilities and several other companies for the past 25 years. He has held positions as a plant maintenance scheduler, planner, and a contractor in plant maintenance at several power plants around the country. Cliff was also the general contractor on two home builds, which is a valuable background to have in the real estate industry.
Cliff took his love and fascination of property and new home construction to the next level by becoming an agent himself. He loves the flexibility of the job and loves that he gets to connect with so many new people. While Cliff deals with all types of real estate, he especially enjoys working with land, new home construction, and commercial properties. Cliff loves that each real estate situation has unique challenges and gives him the opportunity to meet new people. He finds the entire process to be a bit of a match-making challenge…and the most rewarding thing for Cliff is matching his clients with the specific property that fits their every need.
During downtime, Cliff enjoys spending quality time with his wife of 24 years and their two sons. Cliff is also a community man as a member of the Preston City Congregational Church, an associate member of the Connecticut Farm Bureau, and a past member of the Preston Fire Department. Cliff has volunteered his time at the Dennison Nature Center in Mystic and is a huge supporter of Autism Speaks and Spina Bifida Association of America.

Carol Ann Roux was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. She grew up in Lebanon, Connecticut and graduated from Lyman Memorial High School. When asked by a teacher as a freshman in high school, “What is your passion?” Carol Ann knew immediately. At a young age, she was focused and driven and surprised the teacher with her response. “I am going to go to college where I will be involved in different groups and organizations to help people. I am going to work in the areas of business and law. My goal is to own investment properties within two years of graduating high school.” Talk about knowing your life calling at a young age! While Carol Ann has taken multiple learning paths, picking up tons of knowledge on the way, she has worked hard to achieve those goals that she once spoke about as a young adult. Her diligence and persistence to learn have evolved into a successful career as a real estate agent.
With an early interest in business and computers, after high school, Carol Ann decided to further her education at Three Rivers Community Technical College where she obtained an associate’s degree focusing in business, law and social psychology. She then transitioned to the University of Connecticut where she received a bachelor’s degree, with a dual concentration, in Business Management and Social Psychology and became a certified paralegal. She is, also, a member of the honor societies of Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Alpha Pi.
With her diverse background in the fields of business, law and real estate, Carol Ann began her career life as a secretary at Aetna Life Insurance and then was promoted to train the company employees on computers. When she moved to Brooklyn, Connecticut, her itch for more knowledge sparked up again, it was here she learned about investing and began to dabble with remodeling multi-family buildings then quickly transitioned to managing and selling properties. Having the desire to learn more about financing, she gained her license for Life Insurance and Home Equity Loans through the State of Connecticut. Her knowledge on the legal aspects of development and acquisition, as well as, her experience in various areas of the law and real estate, as a paralegal, has turned out to be a vital attribute to her real estate career.
Besides doing real estate, Carol Ann is very active and has an adventuresome family life. She has three children and has been blessed with an ever-growing number of grandchildren. Carol Ann believes that education and daily learning is the most essential way to be the best version of yourself! She is very passionate about having and creating strong bonds with family and friends. Her other interests are gardening, traveling, admiring architecture and antiques. Also, she is involved in the community and has been on a variety of boards, mentoring programs and outreach committees with fundraising. Being the goal-exceeder she is, as a co-leader for the United Way Campaign with a goal of $56,000; she surpassed that goal at $80,000.
